Muse Flat-pack Stool
Date
December 2024
Project type
Furniture Design
The Muse flat-pack stool is designed for easy transport and can be assembled by the buyer without the need for glue or screws. Inspired by the grid design in Module Grid House by Tetsuo Yamaji Architects, the stool’s assembly relies on simple connections. Crafted from walnut and maple wood, all pieces are hand-shaped in the woodshop, primarily using a table saw.
The grid structure and three triangular legs provide exceptional strength by distributing weight evenly, supporting up to 160 pounds. Each rectangular plank features walnut wood on one side and maple on the other, offering different visual combinations from all four sides. This design not only ensures functionality and durability but also presents a visually appealing and versatile piece of furniture.
